Best Lightweight Single Stroller
This is the lightest and smallest travel stroller available. Its sleek design is easy to fold into a neat rectangular shape and the wheels spin more smoothly than other models.
It also has a large under-seat storage area and an adjustable shoulder strap which makes it easier to carry around if you're not pushing it. The canopy adjustment can be a bit noisy which can disturb a toddler who is sleeping.
1. Contours Itsy
A compact stroller, the Contours Itsy offers lots of features for its size. The basket in the back of the seat is spring loaded, so you can lower it to stuff bags for diapers or backpacks into and it will then pop up to protect the contents. It also has a child accessory tray and adjustable reclining seat back pad, which are more options than you typically see on a stroller with a light weight.
Additionally, it has an excellent canopy that is able to open and close to provide the level of sun protection you require. Additionally, the handlebar is adjustable in height four positions to provide a more comfortable fit. We weren't as impressed with its performance on rough terrain. We felt that the suspension and wheels didn't do a good job of absorbing bumps and shocks.
It's an ideal travel stroller since it arrives in the box fully assembled, with just few steps to get it ready to use. The seat can be moved forward and backwards to adjust the recline. It's a bit flat. It's a cinch to fold and unfold, thanks to two buttons on the frame. It also fits in an easy-to-carry bag when it's not being used. In fact, it's one of the smallest strollers we've tested, and it easily can meet the requirements of many airlines for gate-checking and cabin storage on planes. 2. Kolcraft Cloud Plus
This stroller is a great choice for those who need a stroller that is lightweight for travel. It comes with all the features parents are looking for in a stroller. This includes all-terrain tires and front suspension for smooth riding. It's also very light and weighs less than 12 pounds. It can be folded in one hand and stand up on its own. It also has a child tray and parent tray and two cup holders.
Its quality, though, is a little too low and it didn't fare well in our tests of maneuverability. It has a flexible frame which makes pushing it over rough surfaces feel like lifting heavy weights. It may be fine if you only use the stroller on paved sidewalks. But for most people, it's not a good choice.
The Cloud Plus features a three-tiered extended canopy with an open window that provides additional sun protection. Its multi-position seat can be used by children up to 50 pound and has the 5-point safety restraint system. This is a great feature for older toddlers who have outgrown infant car seats.
It's compact and folds up in a single step. It can be collapsed by pressing an appropriate button. It also has a convenient foot-activated brake that is simple and easy to set and release.
However, the handle is lower than many of the other strollers we've tested, and some parents might find it uncomfortable for extended periods of time. It does have a handle lock to keep it in place when open, though. This is a good feature to have in case you are planning to use the stroller over uneven or muddy terrain.
3. Munchkin Sparrow
The Munchkin Sparrow is the ultimate travel stroller for parents who are on the go. This ultra-compact stroller is a breeze to fold up and down and easily fits in overhead compartments on planes as well as in trunks at the amusement park (no more worrying about parking fees). It is also equipped with a simple-zip bag for storage that is easy to carry. It is able to be used from birth with the infant car seat adapter and provides plenty of shade thanks to its canopy (though not as much as the Nuna TRVL or Uppababy Minu V2). The only issue is that some parents find the style to be a bit utilitarian and expensive.
The BabyZen Yoyo+ is a little more expensive than other single strollers with lightweights however, it was created specifically for luxurious travel and urban living. It's among the smallest strollers that fold (and comes with a handy carry case), and it comes with plenty of storage, including cups holder. The seat is comfortable for the child and the adult, and reclines to a near-flat position. This is the only stroller on our list with an adapter for car seats that can allow it to be used with babies. Some parents with short legs may not appreciate the handlebar that does not adjust.
The UPPAbaby Minu V2 may not be the lightest stroller, but it comes with a number of great features to assist parents in traveling with their children. The spacious seat reclines into an upright position and comes with extra padding to make those plane napping sessions more comfortable. The canopy that extends can provide adequate sun protection, and the tray has plenty of storage. It also features an adjustable handle that doubles as a footrest when folded. The footrest is susceptible to damage by baggage handlers.
4. Uppababy Mini V2
Uppababy Minu V2 is an elegant stroller that is stylish and has a high-end design and quality. Its compact design allows it to easily navigate narrow streets and tight spaces, but its sturdy structure allows it to withstand rough terrain without compromising comfort of your child. The spring-action suspension at the rear and front creates a more comfortable ride, and its durable materials ensure it can endure the wear and tear of daily use. It can also be expanded to accommodate other accessories such as an infant car seat.
In our testing in our tests, the Minu was easy to maneuver and fold even with a child in its hand. Its squat, almost square fold, which unfolds into thirds, is among the most straightforward in our tests and allows it to easily fit into overhead compartments on planes or in public transportation. It also has a single-action brake with color coded that is simple to use.
The seat has an adjustable recline in multiple positions and a single-handed adjustable leg rest, making it easy to find the perfect position for your child. The UPF 50+ canopy can be lowered quite a ways to shield Cora's face from sun. The medium-sized mesh window is magnetically attached to the canopy, and it closes without the use of noisy Velcro.
With a weight of just under 15 pounds, the Minu is easy to carry thanks to its built-in carry handle and a shoulder strap. It can also be stored in the trunk of your vehicle, and it comes with a storage container and access to the TravelSafe program offered by Uppababy which adds two years onto the manufacturer's warranty and covers replacements for any items damaged in the course of air travel.
5. Joovy Aire
Joovy is a well-known brand that makes several strollers. This light model is a good option for parents who want a workhorse stroller that carts children around, provides ample storage, is easy to maneuver and doesn't require a high engineering degree to fold. It's not the ideal choice if you want a car seat-compatible model, or a double stroller, however. It isn't compatible with infant car seats. Your babies should be able to sit upright on their backs before you can use it.
This stroller is packed with features and is available at a reasonable price. It scored higher in our maneuverability test than other strollers with similar specs. It's also a great choice for smooth surfaces. It also has a lovely canopy and plenty of storage space, including a large tray for parents. The handlebar is a bit smaller than average and the front wheel suspension is more rigid but it's still suitable for adults.
If you have twins or two children with different ages, you might consider a stroller that is side-by-side is the best way to get them around. Our favorite is the Joovy Twin Groove. top rated single strollers comes with a variety of features and has a tiny footprint that allows it to fit in places where other side-byside strollers won't.
It features reclining seats that are individually adjustable, a large canopy with an opening window that can be seen from afar and lots of storage. It's a bit heavier than other side-by-sides but it has a decent capacity for weight and can handle most children weighing up to 50lbs. It's possible to add a bassinet to the front of the stroller to accommodate infants.
The Caboose RS Sit and Stand Stroller offers an elegant version of the stroller. It has the same fantastic features as the model above and can be fitted with a bassinet, allowing you to bring your baby home from the hospital in fashion.
